Boxing champ James Toney has been a hot topic for mixed martial arts fans from the moment his recent UFC signing was made official.

What seemed a mere curiosity as Toney followed UFC president Dana White around the country - begging for a shot in the octagon - quickly turned into a potential game-changing acquisition.

But who exactly is Toney going to fight? On the newest edition of HDNet's "Inside MMA," the 41-year-old boxer said he doesn't want any pushover; in fact, he's be comfortable starting with UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.

WEC 47 was an interesting night of action for all MMA fans - and especially this oddball who happens to be an orthopedic surgeon.

The now-ex-champ Brian Bowles suffered a hand fracture early in the fight, and according to the Ohio Athletic Commission, he didn't answer the bell for the third round (with urging from his cornermen). I felt bad for the kid; all that hard work out the window.

We've seen it many times before. It happens in fighting. I thought to myself, "Give him a few months to heal, and he'll be back. No controversy there." Boy, was I naïve!

As Bellator Fighting Championships gears up for its season-two middleweight tourney to determine a No. 1 contender for the champ, Hector Lombard returned to Australia and successfully defended his other title, the Cage Fighting Championship middleweight belt.

The victory over Team Quest's Art Santore extended Lombard's unbeaten streak to 18 fights and marked his 13th straight win since a 2007 draw with Kyle Noke.

The title defense came today at the 11-bout "CFC 12: Lombard vs. Santore" event, which took place at the 5,500-seat Hordern Pavilion in Sydney, New Wales, Australia.

World Victory Road's Sengoku Raiden Championships 12 event makes its tape-delayed U.S. debut tonight on HDNet.

The event, which initially took place March 7 at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japana, airs at 10 p.m. ET (7 p.m. PT) on the all-high-definition cable station.

The three-hour broadcast follows a new episode of "Inside MMA," which included panelists James Toney (a recent UFC signee), fellow boxer Ray Mercer, and former EliteXC champion K.J. Noons.

The bad blood between "The Ultimate Fighter 10" head coaches Rashad Evans and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson spilled down to the assistant coaching staff, and it hasn't gone away since.

In a recent appearance on MMAjunkie.com Radio Mike van Arsdale (8-5), Evans' wrestling coach on the show, said he's been itching to get a fight with Jackson's striking coach Tiki Ghosn (11-7).

"He's one of two people in this earth that I would beat up just for the fun of it," van Arsdale said. "Hopefully, he'll come around and make the mistake of signing up."
