Alexander Volkanovski welcomes fourth fight with Max Holloway now that he's got the BMF belt we might have to do this

Despite holding three victories over fellow former featherweight champion, Max Holloway, Australian favorite, Alexander Volkanovski has welcomed the chance to fight the Hawaiian for a fourth time – particularly now the latter holds the symbolic BMF title.

Volkanovski, a former undisputed featherweight champion and a prior pound-for-pound number one under the banner of the promotion, has been sidelined since he took main event honors at UFC 298 back in February in Anaheim.

And dropping his first loss at 145lbs since his move to the Dana White-led organization, Volkanovski’s impressive title run at featherweight was halted in blistering fashion by the unbeaten, Ilia Topuria – who finished the New South Wales native with a stunning second round KO.

Max Holloway

As for Holloway, the former featherweight kingpin most recently featured at UFC 300 last month, scoring a brutal fifth round highlight-reel knockout win over Justin Gaethje to win the previously noted BMF belt.

Weighing up potential title fights against both champions, Islam Makhachev, and Ilia Topuria, respectively – Holloway may have a chance to fight Volkanovski in the future for a fourth time – given his recent BMF title acquisition.

“Would I fight him (Max Holloway) a fourth time? I mean, now that he’s got a BMF [title] we might have to do this, you know what I mean?” Alexander Volkanovski told Australian outlet, Main Event TV on Fox Sports. “I was always thinking, ‘How could you do it [a fourth fight]?’ But maybe there is that something there – I mean, there’s a BMF [title] now.”

“Maybe it’s like, for me – it’s 3-0, how can you get yourself out of bed for that?” Alexander Volkanovski explained. “A BMF [title] is something I haven’t touched before, so you know? Maybe we can do that, you know? So we’ll see what happens.”

Would you like to see Alexander Volkanovski face Max Holloway for a fourth time?

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) CEO, Dana White, will be one of many celebrities lined up to roast NFL legend Tom Brady this Sunday night (May 5, 2024) LIVE on Netflix.

Brady, who is widely regarded as one of the best professional football players of all time, has willingly agreed to step on stage for an exclusive LIVE special on Netflix in order to get roasted by his peers and his closest friends. The Netflix special will air LIVE and FREE for current subscribers tomorrow night beginning at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.

Check out the official Netflix promo in the above video player.

Comedian Kevin Hart will play host for Brady’s lengthy roast, but a collection of other prominent celebrities will also take stage to rip “TB12” a new one. This includes roastmaster Jeff Ross, former New England Patriots Pro Bowl tight end Rob Gronkowski, legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick, and of course, White. It’s unknown at this time how long White will be asked to delivered jokes for on Brady’s behalf, but the UFC CEO took to social media Friday night to tease his Netflix appearance.

“Hey everybody! Live on Netflix this Sunday I’ll be roasting the greatest of all time, Tom Brady,” said White via Instagram (shown above). “Check it out only available on Netflix.”

In case you didn’t know, White is one of the biggest New England Patriots fans around. He has formed a close relationship with Brady over the years, which includes scoring the seven-time Super Bowl winner some UFC cageside tickets. It would only make sense for White to be in attendance to try to put Brady on the hot seat.

What do you think, fight fans? Will White deliver some good comedy on Sunday night or will the UFC CEO crash and burn?

Let’s discuss!

One of boxing’s very best will be back inside the ring later tonight (Sat., May 4, 2024) live on DAZN pay-per-view (PPV) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, as Canelo Alvarez puts his undisputed super middleweight title on the line against fellow countryman Jaime Munguia.

While Alvarez is a sizeable betting favorite heading into Saturday’s title fight, Munguia is a talented fighter who could give the champ more than he bargains for. Munguia is currently undefeated at 43-0 and has left 34 of his opponents unable to continue. There will certainly be an experience advantage in favor of Canelo, but Munguia has the skill and physical makeup (he’ll have a two-inch reach advantage) to turn some heads in “Sin City.”

The fight itself should deliver from start to finish, but there’s a secondary storyline that will play out Saturday night as well. That will be the ongoing feud between Canelo and former promoter Oscar De La Hoya. Things turned ugly at this week’s press conference between the two and De La Hoya just issued a cease and desist letter to Alvarez following comments about “Golden Boy” stealing money from Gennady Golovkin and other boxers.

Saturday’s fight under the bright lights of T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas has all the fixings. Check out the official streaming details below so you don’t miss a second of the action:
